5th leg Fife Pilgrim Way: Route(9-miles), readings and prayer

• The next 'Leg' is on Tuesday 15th of September.

• Meeting at Kennoway 'Shops' (street parking available) and starting the Way at 9.40am.

• Bring lunch as it will be taken on route.

• Please let me know of your intention to join the walk. (Note: When returning, there is a regular bus service from Ceres to Kennoway.)

Kennoway to Ceres/ Description of Route

Following Kennoway Main Street the 'Way' winds into open countryside, climbing through farmland to Devon Wood, before crossing Clatto Hill (circa 810 feet), descending to Clatto Reservoir and to Muirhead Farm where the 'Way' follows the 'Waterless Road' on the medieval pilgrimage 'Way' to Ceres.

Luke 24: 13-15 Walk to Emmaus

“Now on the same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and walked along with them...”

Luke 24: 32-33

“They said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?’ That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem, where they found the eleven disciples gathered with others and saying,

'The Lord has risen indeed! ”

Prayer

Along the roads of challenge and grief we walk, Lord Jesus, appear with us and walk with us.With the steps we take and the wonderings we make, Rabbi Jesus, show us your way, your truth and your life that our hearts would be warmed and enlivened.

As we face the roads before us, sometimes unknown of the destination or of the terrain ahead, bless Risen Saviour the journey of becoming more and more like you as we step onwards, remember your teachings, and learn from one another and those who have trod this path before us.

May our journeys be with companions along the way.May our conversations spoken and within our hearts, air all the worries and wonderings of life in all its fullness.May your whispering presence show us the way, the truth and the life in Jesus as those companions came to know on the road to Emmaus.
